Teaching Statement

Whatever the age and stage of my students, I believe in treating them like the whole human beings they are. This means that no matter what we're learning, I'm helping young children practise social skills, helping adults touch their creativity, and helping the staff I work with bring out their best. I have experience as Designated Safeguarding Lead and Paediatric First Aider. Below are some of the organisations I have worked with.

Teaching Assistant - Vibe Teacher Recruitment

Working 1:1 supporting children with special educational needs at Our Lady's Catholic Primary SChool, Camden.

Manager - Camp Canary

Developing, facilitating, resourcing and timetabling activities for kids' holiday club; supervising intake and care of up to 85 children a day; recruiting and managing casual staff.

I began at Camp Canary in 2019 as a Play Worker, then developed their first Drama curriculum as Drama Leader. I then took over as Manager to lead the successful reopening of the club after lockdown, staying in this position until the club ceased activities three years later.

Facilitator - Body Hour

Developing and facilitating disability-inclusive movement practice for adults, including a residency at The Study Society.

Movement Consultant - Lionwoman Productions

Teaching professional actors Laban technique and Movement Psychology.

Teaching Artist - Hope Stone

Leading weekly theatre classes for young people aged 10 - 18; pioneering intergenerational classes with teens at a senior citizens' home; co-creating short plays.

I resonate deeply with Hope Stone's motto of "Art for All" and worked with this company for five years while I lived in Texas, starting as Intern, then later working as Master Teacher. I also wrote a weekly blog for their website.

Music and Drama Teacher - Bigfoot Arts Education

Developing and facilitating curriculum-linked drama sessions in primary schools; leading after-school music and drama clubs.
